Top Jewellery & Accessory Trends for Spring/Summer 2015
The world of fashion is dynamic and fast-paced. The trends in clothes, jewellery and accessories are ever-changing and what was the ‘coolest’ today could be easily dumped for a ‘hotter’ trend the very next day. If you are a fashion follower and want to be up-to-date with the pulse of the fashion world, the first big thing to look out for is the spring/summer trends for 2015. Read on to find out which jewellery/accessory trends have got both critics and customers excited for the upcoming season.
Necklaces: The hottest item on display for spring/summer 2015 is the relic pendant, available in extraordinary shapes and sizes. The ones having ancient scriptures engraved on them are high on demand. The bestsellers among these relic pieces include Celine, Giorgio Armani and Derek Lam. Long necklaces fitted with stars and crescent moons were a runway hit in New York. Breastplate necklaces, available in large metallic forms, are also preferred as they present a bold image. Using as many different colour and texture combinations possible, tube necklaces are the items to look out for in 2015. Tube necklaces include Salvatore Ferragamo styled shiny glass-like tube necklaces and puzzle designs from Giorgio, Armani among others.
Wooden & Beaded jewellery: Wood is the latest entrant in the fashion jewellery market and has been welcomed with open arms. Wood jewellery is now available in quirky and innovative designs and is giving tough competition to other metals. Spring/summer of 2015 has also seen beads being extensively used in creating beautiful long or choker-like necklaces and ultra luxurious jewels.
Geometric shapes: No fashion report is complete without a mention about geometric shapes, which are a major component of fashion pieces. This year too will see an impressive and different line-up of geometry-inspired jewellery including square forms from Donna Karan, Emilio Pucci’s rounded patterns and multiple bracelets from Chanel.
Bracelets & Cuffs: Metallic bracelets are a huge hit this season with their unique interpretations and designs getting sold out in no time. Available in single or mixed colours, in big and small shapes, metallic bracelets are the fad this season. Upper arm bracelets and cuffs are mixed and matched with gold shades and tiny pearls.
Accessories in vogue:
Shawls, headscarves: Shawls and headscarves decorated with big floral patterns and made from lightweight cotton are a must-have in the spring/summer of 2015. Shawl designs include geometrical shapes, animal motifs and polka dots in pastel shades like light pink, dove blue and mint. Coming to headscarves, they are available in dull colors like grey, blue and white adorned with geometrical designs or are kept simply plain.
Statement watches: No fashionista will step out of her home this season without an eye-catching statement-piece watch. Popular designs this season include feathery watches, horsebit bracelet watches and electric blue watches.
Belts: One of the most important accessories for fashion divas, the belt has made a popular comeback in recent times. Harness belts, tiny belts, obi belts and many others are now an indispensable part of people’s wardrobe and are the perfect accessory for high-waist pants, vintage garments and experimental fresh outfits.
Handbags/purses: You can get the dress right, jewellery right and also the belt right, but without the right handbag/purse, your fashion statement is incomplete. Spring/summer trends this year are leaning towards quirky materials, fringes and fur. Colours range from blue, mint and different berry tones. Clutches, meant for evening parties, are available in sequins and rhinestones.
