Amethyst and ruby bring love and hope to Pisceans
All of us, in some way or the other, believe in sun signs. While some are content with yearly horoscopes, many of us do a quick check of daily forecasts before heading out for the day. Each sun sign is special and people born under them have distinct and unique personality traits. The month of February belongs to the Pisces sun sign, represented by two fish depicting the eternal cycle of life and death.
Pisceans are said to be very sensitive to the things happening around them. They have a natural sense of empathy and showcase a kind and patient nature. Social by nature, Pisceans are very easygoing and this helps them smooth many ruffled feathers and emerge a winner in any kind of situation. To their credit, Pisceans are complete workaholics and do exceptionally well in artistic areas.
However, it’s not always happy-go-lucky for Pisceans. Mind you, they can be lazy, detached from reality, melancholic and afraid to take risks. People born under this sun sign find it hard to take a firm stand on any issue as they are easily swayed by others’ opinions.
Like all sun signs, Pisces also has its very own gemstones. Amethyst, ruby, topaz, clear quartz and aquamarine are the stones to pick for Pisceans. These gemstones are said to be lucky for Pisceans as they improve the physical and spiritual conditions of the individual.
Amethyst: Traditionally known as the birthstone for the month of February, the amethyst finds mention in both western as well as Indian astrology. Usually available in transparent violet/lavender, this stone is said to attract love, joy and harmony. Amethyst is also noted to have spiritual qualities.
Clear Quartz: Known as the zodiac stone for Pisces, clear quartz or rock crystal is believed to be lucky for people born under this sun sign. This gemstone is a major attraction for people interested in the supernatural and paranormal.
Ruby: The gorgeous ruby is said to be the talismanic stone for Pisceans. Rubies are worn by people to improve their knowledge and for success in relationships. The ruby also enhances a personality trait of the Piscean—living in harmony with naysayers.
Aquamarine: Aquamarine is the planetary stone for Pisces. The blue version of beryl, aquamarine is popular for relieving tensions and improving the mental strength of people adorning it.
Topaz: Associated with planet Jupiter, this Piscean birthstone, available in yellow, blue and red, is believed to protect from injury and enhance eyesight.
Ruby finds a prominent place in one of the largest personal jewellery collections in the world. This collection belongs to late actress Elizabeth Taylor, who is also a Piscean, born on February 27. Popularly known as Liz Taylor, the British-American actress was famous for her acting abilities and glamorous lifestyle. Her famous movies include A Place in the Sun (1951), Cleopatra (1963) and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf (1966), among others.
No piece about Elizabeth Taylor is complete without a mention about her $137-million jewellery treasure. A stunning collection of sparkles including a Cartier ruby and diamond suite, a Van Cleef & Arpels ruby and diamond ring, a pair of ruby and diamond drop earrings with matching necklace. There is also an 8-carat-ruby ring, gifted by her third husband, the late actor Richard Burton. What’s interesting is that Burton searched for the perfect ruby and only after he found it, did he gift the gemstone to Taylor in 1958. Liz Taylor’s large ruby collection shows the Piscean actress’s fascination for her sun sign gemstone.
